A few weeks ago I bought a frag pack in an online sale. I explained that I was a beginner but I was sent a Neon Merulina as one of the frags, which I believe is a bit tricky to keep. It was then delayed by Fedex so wasn't 100% happy when it arrived. It was just about alive and seems to have deteriorated since then.

It now only has just 3 pinhead size neon parts, and the rest is largely colourless. Do you think it is gone when it gets to this stage or is there something I can try to bring it back from the brink?

It is near the bottom of my Fluval Evo with the stock light. Does it need more light, feeding with something specific, particular care or is it likely to be irrecoverable?

I do have a separate QT that I can move it to, and a AI Prime if it needs more light.

Call purchaser tomorrow and see what they do to grow their Neon Merulina mother colonies out to frag.

I'd reach back where you purchased and ask recommendations to help it grow back. Its not gone, but if the rest of it loses color you could only have couple weeks before no recovery and it will grow slow for you going forward because of its already color loss.
