It will work fine. The main pro is that it will increase pH at night as you desire. The main con is that it will also increase alkalinity when the consumption in your tank will decrease. So you might get more of a daily alkalinity swing. I personally don’t think that is a big deal.

Thanks. That is a good reminder as in addition to my CaRx, I dose a little ALk overnight. I can skip that.

My system ALK does drift around a range of 7.7 to 8.4 over a couple days. Without a CO2 scrubber my pH is chronically low unless the windows are opened/cracked.

The plan sounds good. I will even go further to stop CaRx at night. So during light on, run CaRx, during light off, run Kalk.

My CaRx runs pretty hard to keep up with almost 1.5 dkh per day, but I also have 2-part running in my DOS, so I could get away with it by cranking that up a tad. (Dosing ALK overnight.)
