How to sterilize coral frags

Hey guys. Made a super dumb mistake, didn't QT the fish order I got as I it was the only fish going in (nano), and now everyones dead except two who are being treated in QT. Such a freaking idiot. Anyways, the tank itself is a mess, algae, dinos, cyano, ect, sand I got was used and I didn't rinse well enough, ect, ect. I'm going to reset the tank by washing rocks and sand in freshwater form the tap, then soaking in RO/DI for a day, then letting dry. Then I'll fill up with fresh saltwater and everything will be clean. (benefits of a nano). I do have another tank I can reseed this one with pods/biodiveristy/ect.

BUT! I have 3 zoa frags in this tank. I don't know what to do with them. I definitely do NOT want to put them in the other tank as I would risk infecting it, but I can't sterilize them. I don't have a coral QT. I was wondering if I could kind of do a TTM. E.g. soak in freshwater for 10-20 minutes, then transfer to fresh saltwater with a little light, powerhead, and heater. Do this a few days in a row, and mabye they'd be sterilized? Pretty sure the fish had brooklynella, as the skin was flaking off and it was very fast acting. Or, since zoas close up so tight, could I do a medicated bath?

There is nothing you can do to eliminate the tomonts that could be encysted upon the frag plugs or rock that frags are attached to.

If it's brook fallow is also the only way to eliminate.

Setup a makeshift coral QT. Small rubbermaid bin even works. I've done it with much success.

Ugh. So I need to put them in QT for 2 months? Will a simple LED floodlight desk lamp with a heater and mini pump in a 5 gal bucket work?

You'll need to do better than that for zoas. Maybe some kinda reef grade gooseneck mount?

Is there no way to sterilize them?

No way to steralize them.. zoas are very hardy and will take a lower quality light source for a few weeks while you source something more suitable for them. What about the lights on the tank you are restarting? You won't need those on the tank during the cycle.

Didn't think about that. Its a Marsaqua black box. I think I'll toss them in a 5 gal bucket and put the marsaqua over on very low light as it's alot closer then normal.
