How to stock 30 gal reef

I recently was planning on setting up my reef again after some tragic events (disease wiped out my tank.) I want to start fresh. I know I want a pair of clowns but I don't know what type so please give me some recommendations on your favorite clowns. I would also like to know what else I should stock it with. Ideal all unique fish and no schooling ones so it can be really diverse. Thanks!

For clownfish my favorite besides the original are wyoming white or Picasso. Some other unique fish are any sand shifting gobies, a hawkfish, and even a pair of pearly jawfish.

These are simple black Ocellaris pair, 5 years old, +nem.
Super hardy, super easy, go well with gramma, firefish, a goby, a wrasse, Cardinal fish and down the road, a mandarin.

One question, how is it with two different breeds of clowns? I have heard they can be aggressive towards each other. Were they a bonded pair or did u buy then separately?

In my case it’s no diff than when I had a pair of percs in an old tank. They were not already bonded when I bought them. The Picasso quickly became the dominant one but they are peaceful to my other fish, just not my hands.

Chalk bass are pretty cool, or maybe a trio of yellow cardinals. What are the dimensions of the tank? Take into consideration that just because a recommended tank size says 10g or 50g etc it is really about dimensions, fish behavior and habitat etc. for example a cryptic cave dwelling fish isn’t going to take a lot of lateral swimming space, where as say a tang or anthias need plenty of length

(edit obviously neither a tang nor anthias is a suggestion for this size tank. And I just now read he was wanting in addition to clowns. I change my trio of cardinals suggestion)

are the clowns a must have? I think a nice goby would be cool in there , live aquaria has a sub section of nano fish, you could find something there

thanks, i would like clowns but i will look through live aquaria for some other options

My earlier suggestion for a trio of yellow cardinals was without me reading you wanted clowns. I apologize. I would only suggest them on their own.
If you do a pair of clowns, then an additional small goby shouldn’t be an issue.
