I have a Rio+ 400 pump for my 20 gallon cube tank. I am planning on adding seahorses to my tank in just a few weeks, but I am having a problem that I'm scared could harm the seahorses. After I do a water change, the water level obviously goes way down, then rises again after I put the new water in. After I turn the pump back on with the new water added, it spits out a bunch of tiny little bubbles for a few seconds, then goes back to pumping water normally. I'm assuming it does this because the pump is exposed to air while the water level is low. I'm worried that these tiny little bubbles could be harmful to the seahorses since they can get gas bubble disease. Does anyone know a solution to keep the pump from spitting out these bubbles after a water change?
I added a population of tigger pods a little over a month ago, would you recommend adding the mysid shrimp on top of that?
