I have a 600 gallon fish only tank. Any suggestions to minimize salt creep on the outside? It has gotten worse with time. Thanks for your advice!

Only thing I know is to try to minimize bubbles and splashing. It’s seems like no matter what I do ill have sat creep somewhere in my sump but the display I don’t get any.

Is this a glass tank with a frame around the top? Holes in the silicone seal around these frames will wick saltwater and cause seeps & creeps.
Otherwise, reduce the motion inside the tank if you have wavemakers. Can't do much if the fish are throwing water over the side? Mine do that when I forget to feed them on time.

My frag system has big wave flows that create creep. I reduced it somewhat by lowering the water level by adjusting down the overflow. The rest I live with.

@KrisReef mentioned framing. I don't have it but if you do...maybe check the silicone as he suggested.

Salt creep is from one of two things. Tiny amounts of water ‘wicking’ through small spaces or spray/splashing. Fix the cause and the salt buildup goes away.

It appears the saltwater is either over-topping the tank in the corners where the creep appears on the outside. If the fish splash in those corners chasing food that could create the small waves that put water over the top to the rim a few drops at a time. are there cords in the area that could help wick the water over the rim? A few drops/hour will cause build-up over time.

The tank looks beautiful, btw. I had a friend who would wipe the creep every morning as it drove him crazy. He used a paper towel to remove the mess and followed up with a spritz of RODI water and wiped that dry with a clean towel.

Lowering the water level is probably the only other solution for the wave splash over in the corners of the tank.
