How to store Sediment Filter

I’m starting to polish my fresh SW with a sediment filter, but I’m not sure how to store the filter now that I’m done with my first batch. Can I just unscrew it, empty the water, and store it dry? I assume so, since it’s not an RO membrane, but wanted some suggestions.
