How to successfully grow chaeto

If you’ve ever had problems getting your chaeto to grow I think I’ve found a sure fire method.

Follow these steps:

1. Buy a ball of chaeto and have it turn white and die off (do this at least 3 times)
2. Clean out the withered chaeto and have the last remaining single white strand annoyingly floating around in your DT
3. Get an urchin
4. Wait for the chaeto and urchin to find each other
5. Wait a month
6. Sit back and marvel at your success while enjoying their symbiotic relationship

I might offer another solution.
1. Identify why your chaeto is dying. No nitrates? Low iron levels? Incorrect light spectrum? No fuge?
2. Grab some free chaeto from a fellow reefer.
3. Place in fuge under a plant grow light.
4. Monitor and trim. Share the extra with a fellow reefer.
