How to take macro shots with Cannon EOS Rebel T6

I can't figure this out and it is really frustrating. I am trying to good pics of the microfauna living in my fuge and I just can't get it. I put it on the macro setting and use a macro lens. I try zooming in and zooming out. Does anyone know any good tricks? This is the best I have gotten and its not nearly the resoluti want.
