After being out of the hobby for 10 years and recently back in I may as well be a newbie.

Tank is 6 weeks old, did the diatom stage already and that cleared up, but in the last couple days an explosion of what I hope are pods developed. The water looks like there is particulate floating around in it, like little grains of salt.

A couple lousy pics for reference but how do people tell pods from pests?
I should mention I am pretty doom and gloom usually so I tend to expect the worst, haha.

Thanks

Do they look like little bugs with antennae and feet? if so they could be pods(should be very tiny and nearly impossible to get a pic of with a cell phone).

Typically a new tank will go through a stage of hydroids, which look a lot like tiny jellyfish. Could also be these.
