So at 7 months in, I'm still a newbie. My Evo 13. 5 is flourishing as a mixed reef tank with a single clown. I have been cycling a 40g breeder for maybe a month or so. There are currently 2 saddleback clowns, and the assorted cuc. The tank is NOT fully cycled yet. What is the best, most efficient way to transfer my live rock and corals to the new tank? I have a few corals that aren't mounted yet, so those will be easy enough. I do have alot a montis, bird nests, and softies that have taken over the rock. Do I need to cut off everything that has grown on or can I just.....idk....drip acclimate in a bucket??? Not sure I want to razorblade those corals off, but if it's the best option, I will. ( My clown may not tolerate the 2 saddlebacks, so I'm prepared to rehome or keep him in the evo, as I plan on keeping it as a qt.) First pic needs to end up in the second pic. Lol. Parameters are not quite the same yet, but temp and salinity are. Thanks in advance!

Looking good. Yes the clown may need a new home but when the tank is ready and cycled just move the corals on the rock into the new system. I wouldn’t take them off the hard scape unless u have to or are redoing the aqua scape.

I intentionally left a space to put the rock from the small tank into the larger one. I like the formation ( they are NOT glued, so I can move piece by piece if need be.) and think it will look nice with the formation in the big tank. Hopefully the purple vs white rock won't bother my ocd too much!

Yeah just keep them as is and place them directly into the new tank and good luck with the scape. I feel ya w the new v old rock look but in time all balances out. I just added some rock from my sump to support a birdsnest and it’s glaring at me.

Keep in mind, your bio-diversity will not be as good in a 1 month tank in comparison to 7 months.
That being said, you can just move all of them.
Corals will need time to adjust to the new settings and may look a bit drab until the system returns to maturity.
The softies are great at mopping up nutrients so that’s a big plus.

That's what I keep thinking, but there will be so much more room! I always hear that corals don't truly need a cycled tank, but coming from the freshwater world, yeah. Uncycled=scarey all the time! I keep trying to gear myself up for the move, then over think it.

The bluish coral on the orange cap frag rack is a stylo. The toxic green is JF enchanted forest and the one w the pink tips is a Ponape birds nest
I forget what two he had cross, but it looks alot like that! Beautiful!!

Ok. What is the blue tones bird nest??? I have one that looks veeeery similar, but from what I'm aware, he's based out of Ohio. Lazy's blue zing????
There are a lot of trade names for marketing which is why I prefer the latin or scientific name if possible. By no means a toxonomist.
