I’m looking for input on the best way to move a newly breeding clownfish pair from my office tank to my home tank. The pair just laid their first clutch a few days ago on live rock in my office tank.

Step one is to move their nest into a pot in the office tank. From there, I have a good idea of what I will do but I would like to know how you would move the pair into another tank while disrupting their cycle as little as possible.

Sorry I don’t have any experience in clown breeding, I was just wondering how long did it take before your clownfish started spawning?

No prob. I raised them both from eggs. They are about 2 or 2.5 years old.

Any way you do it will likely be stressful but this is what I would do;
Don’t ‘chase’ them around when trying to catch them. Use a fish trap or something similar.
How long is the drive from your office to your home?
I would consider using a 5 gallon bucket and battery powered airpump.
Other than that there’s not a whole lot you can do. Just don’t be rough with them or pull them from the water for too long.

Thanks for the tips! Home’s about 40 minutes away from the office.
