How to turn on Apex controller access point signal?

Our wireless system is set up with access points in our home and the access point used by the DT Apex malfunctioned and it will be several days before it can be fixed. (The router is too far away to connect with a cable.) As I understand it, Apex controllers have a built-in wireless access point that can be used to monitor the system without Fusion. I downloaded the Apex Browser app to locate controller signals but it does not pick up one for the DT. Does anyone know how to make the controller broadcast the signal?

Neither my iPhone nor Mac is picking up a wireless network for the DT controller. We have a simple Apex controller on the coral QT tank and I can access its wireless signal. I assume the DT controller broadcast has been turned off but I cannot find any documentation around that. I contacted Neptune on Friday via email and they refer me to the set up documentation which outlines the initial set up. I can't find anything for my situation: what to do when the controller is not broadcasting its wireless signal.

You need to set the Apex into Lock Access Point Mode:

1. Press the reset button with a paper clip for 6 seconds until the Neptune logo turns blue.
2. Use your phone to join the Apex_Setup### WiFi network.
3. Browse to http://172.16.0.1
4. When prompted to join a network, click the dropdown list and select “Lock Access Point Mode”. This will keep the Apex acting as it’s own WiFi access point until you can sort out your network.
   
   
5. When you’re ready to put the Apex back on your home network, repeat the steps above but select your WiFi name from the list.

One question, do you know if holding the reset button is also how the system is set to factory defaults? I know you specified 6 seconds and I seem to remember I read somewhere that 7 seconds will reset the controller - surely don't want that to happen!

There are 3 actions for the reset button:

• A single press & release will reboot the Apex.
• Press and hold for 6 seconds to activate WiFi Setup mode. Logo will turn blue.
• Press and hold for 30 seconds to reset to factory default. Logo will turn red.
