I just had to detach two of 6 two weeks ago. I took the rock and hung it upside down and placed and held an ice cube on its footing. Took about 8 minutes but they had enough of the ice and released themselvesHello. I need to un-attach a BTA from my rock. what is the best way to do it?

Power head does work but makes a mess of the tank often elevating nitrates and phos levels (at least temporarily)Powerhead: Powerhead aimed at it (if gentle enough) will tick it off possibly to the point of wanting to move. With that move comes a more free pedestal or aka foot. Work it with a turkey baster until you see you’re lifting one side or the other up. Seeing that, go to town with the baster in the same direction. It should be enough to slowly want to release from the rock into the water column. Good luck and above all else, be patient. Slow is key here and to not damage the foot (via. tears).
Turkey Baster: (same as above without the powerhead, all turkey baster). With a whole world of patience, work it slowly with a turkey baster until you see you’re lifting one side or the other up. Seeing that, blast with the baster in the same direction (water shooting up underneath ‘Nems foot). That should be enough to slowly make the ‘Nem want to release from the rock into the water column and move.
