I am upgrading my 55 gallon corner bow front tank (from Fish only) to a Waterbox peninsula 6025
Have
4 clowns
1 hippo tang
1 dottyback
Question can I just just transfer the fish, live rock, all the water to the new tank
I am also adding 7 bags of caribSea Arag-Alive Special grade sand 20 pound bags I believe this will give me 1.5 deep though out there tank

CaribSea Arag-Alive Special Grade Sand, 20 lbs.

You can just transfer over. Ditch your old sand..rinse the new sand thoroughly. You can add a few cups of your old sand and some media from your old tank i.e. filter floss or something for more bio. Match new water salinity and temp and your off and running. With the size upgrade probably more rock needed. Would place your rock in tank before sand so it's stable and firmly on the bottom.

Why would I rinse the new live sand?

You won't kill all the bacteria when you wash it and it will drastically minimize the cloudiness of the sand for the start and the future. It's not necessary to rinse, eventually it can be vacuumed up..it just takes quite a bit of time. Plenty of bacteria will be in your rock. You can also add something like biospira to increase bacteria as well.

id do this, except id prob use all the old sand (unless its really nasty). sift it around in a bucket with saltwater thoroughly though and drain off any detritus and nasty stuff until it runs clear like you would a new bag of sand. Layer new sand on top of old sand bed after sifting (even though its 'tank ready', there's still likely going to be cloudiness if you don't sift it first). I would start with all fresh water, there's little to no bacterial benefit in the water itself and will erase the possibility of bringing over the unwanted nutrients.

That said, there will still prob be a hiccup in tank stability for a while even with the established rock and substrate, but should be fine for the fish. Id wait until I see some real stability though before coral.

(Note, Id also do a H202 dip on all the fish after pulling them from the old tank before introducing to the new tank)
