I currently have an 80g tank w/ 20g sump. In the tank I have a Jabeo Gyre-Style wavemaker and smaller Wavemaker opposite for in tank turnover, in the sump I have a Sicce Syncra Silent 3.0 as the return pump. Tank mates and coral are currently happy and growing, but here are my questions:
1) if the tank is happy, should I increase flow?
2) if 'yes', what is the optimal way to increase flow/turnover:
a) increase return pump size
b) increase the smaller wavemaker to a larger one
c) add another small wavemaker

Any feedback about wavemaker placement (or otherwise) is appreciated!

I try to meet 3 criteria as a baseline. Surface agitation, no dead spots, no sand blowing around. Once you have those 3, the rest is specific to coral needs.

I have a 90g with 2 jebao wavemakers on either end. 1/3 of the way down, pointed slightly upward.

Got it, do you have any recommendations for wavemakers? Or specs I should aim for?

Add a second Jebao gyre to the left side.
Add a second Jebao wave maker to the right lower.
Run on a simple timer, on for a bit, off for a bit, for each pump to randomize the flow patterns.

I use 4 Jebao gyres, 2 left, 2 right, 1 horizontal (normal) and 1 vertical, like an upside down L.

I use jebao. Cheap, reliable and fully adjustable.

I have the Jebao SCP-70M currently, should I match that with another one, or is it beneficial to step up to the SCP-90M (or would that be overkill)?

My thinking would be to match it or flow would favor the larger one. You could probably turn it down to match though.
The 70 pushed around 1800 gph whereas the 90 pushes about 1000 more.
Also moving to 90 means about 2” longer than 70, maybe that looks weird in the DT.

I went ahead and matched the 70. I currently run the one at low speed and mid power currently.
