How to use Microscope for my purpose...

I've got a 1000X digital microscope. Yip it's average but it's all I've got. What's the best way to get a sample of what I have for an ID? what can I put it on to use with the microscope? where in the system do I get it from?

I purchased a cell phone holder for the scope on Amazon

use a pipette and suck up a little of the material you want to check. Put it on a slide and lay coverslip. Don't press down.
