The question is really simple, how do you guys ventilate your enclosed sumps. I tried looking it up and most were older threads and I just wanted to get some maybe newer opinions. I’m starting to notice how damp the inside is getting, when I open the doors after being closed for a while I get that nice breeze of super humid air. It is painted with weather proof paint and sealed up but I have all my electronic stuff in there too and want to prolong the life of everything including the stand for as long as possible. Feel free to attach links to what works best for you. I’ve read many different ins and outs. What would work best for my stand. Thank you!

Wow that is sealed up tight. Can you cut holes in the sides and back wall and add a fan?
Yeah that’s what I was planning on doing. Adding 1 or two pc fans. And it really is closed up right LOL. It’s in my bedroom so I wanted to minimize light leak from the front. I just wanted to know what worked best for others in terms of fans and ‘in and out’ flow.

Small holes at the bottom and top should create some natural air movement that will expel hot air and draw in cooler air. Otherwise, a small fan from Amazon will do the trick.

I'm not sure what tools you have available to you but a drill with some hole saw bits could easily do the trick and give a clean look.

Yeah my dad does a lot of that handyman stuff so BIG array of stuff to choose from lol

How well would this PC fan work. It claims to be able to function in high humidity and claims to be able to be used in aquarium environments. I like the fact that it’s plug and play since I’m not too electrical savvy (funny enough I wanna be an electrician and I’m taking my first residential wiring class this semester)
I was planning on having one (maybe 2 in the future) running 24/7 with a couple plastic vents to allow air to escape. This will be placed lower and vents higher... right? Cooler room air through the fan low and hotter more humid air through vents at top?

At Lowes in the roofing section they sell 4" aluminum or plastic round vents. I have used these before with good success. 4" hole saw, then install the vents, good clean look.
Haha yeah I was planning on getting some of those. More so plastic to avoid corrosion or anything. But I just wanted to add a PC fan for some extra flow through there especially with all my electronics in there it can get hot AND humid

You can use a dryer vent hood to help prevent light from escaping the opening. Spray paint the interior black also helps reduce light spill. Use a quiet PC muffin fan for movement since it's in your bedroom.

This style off Amazon also works very well with minimal clearance required, but it does spill more light.

From my build thread:

120MM computer case fan in the side

And a soffit vent cover at the other end to keep the fuge light from shining through:

And finally a computer case dust filter on the vent:

That’s almost exactly what I wanna do! What fan did you use and how’d you wire it up?

Can't remember the exact fan make & model, just a good quiet one. Probably a leftover from a PC build. Powered by a 12v wall wart power supply that I spliced the wires to.
