How to work system

I'm wanting to make a one follow system where i send my water through a media reactor straight to skimmer then back into tank. What are some things to consider? The media reporter has a bigger pump for more water to go through but will be dialed back on the output.... should i put skimmer first or media reactor first

I have never seen a setup like this, but I would assume you would want the water going through the skimmer first, so your media lasts longer?
