So this is where I am at through 14 months. The only loss was a cleaner shrimp. The only thing I declare a sucess on my records so far is my 2 clownfish.
The following are pending sucess:
1 yellow coris wrasse (missing for 6 weeks came back for 3 days and was eating missing again today)
1 diamond watchman goby
5 bluegreen chromis
1 yellow tang
1 yellow eyed kole tang
1 duncan coral (7 months no growth)
1 frogspawn (same no growth 7 months)
1 torch (same as above)
1 candy cane (same as above)
1 encrusting montipora (new)
1 flower anemone (3 months no growth)

I have had good sucess with my freshwater tanks but this seems abnormal to me that I can't name anything true sucess'. So what's the honest answer how am I doing.

Tank looks fine except for some hair algae.
I dont know how you are doing.

If you're happy with you're tank, you're doing well.

No growth is ok but not ideal for most people. People wanna know your tank numbers, how you are measuring them and what you feed

Last time I tested last week the numbers were:
9.1 alk
480 calc
1500 mag
0-2 ppm nitrates
8.1 ph
I feed hikari carnivore daily along with mysis and reef roids on occasion. Plus I just started trying out masstick.

Numbers look pretty normal. I dont know why your corals have not grown.

Everything is alive and happy.

sometimes corals seem to not grow and then all of a sudden take off.

It would be nice to see some bulking up on frogspawn, candy cane, and duncans. They're known fast growers. Still, can't see any reason to complain. I think you've already made it past the huge dropoff on "tanks still alive" after year one!

Parameters look solid. Have you ever tried a par meter?

No I have not I have moved the corals around recently though to try to spark them.
