So, I'm kind of toght on money and have a 125 gallon I built into my wall so it looks nice for my family room. I want to go all t5, amd am saving for the 60" ATI fixture. For now, I do have a 72" power compact fixture thst houses 6 x 55W bulbs. If I put decent bulbs in the fixture, could it maybe handle stsrting the tank up with some easier sps? Im taking the stock out of my 46 bow.

I don't want to go led. Period. I sell them at the store and cannot see a benefit to them yet. T5 still one of the best options in my opinion.

Thanks!

If by putting in decent bulbs, you mean buying new ones for it, you would be much better off saving for the whole fixture. Last I checked PC's were still pricey. That said, I've grown sps under pc with no issue before, and I am sure I am not the only one.

Who makes those? The problem I see at my store is when people buy cheap T5 lights, ballasts seem to die yearly...

They're made by hung lo in China I'm sure. I'm thinking I have a 3 year ballast warranty. My 24" is 16 months into use with a long photo period. Good news is that ballast for them are like $8...
