So I have 60" hybrid, and I'm having a hanging kit made out of 80/20. Legs screwed into my tank, and arms extending over the tank. Will it work, hanging the light with just the wires that are on the light now? (Not sure what the metal piece attached is for). Or will I need to use the hanging kit provided some way?

On my ATI SunPower you got to undo for screws and remove the end caps and then there is a couple little slits that the cable slides into. And gets held in by the little end lead barrels. But that's how it works on my ATI SunPower

I think that is similar to mine. However I would rather not have to do that, I'm wondering if it's possible to just attatch it to 80/20 as it sits now.

I think the cable that you hang from the ceiling should just slide through the little hole on the top and poke out the side. That would be your adjustment point for your height

That's a good idea. I would have to think of a way to lower or raise it and have it hold.

It should be the silver barrels already attached to the cable on your light fixture

Oh I meant on the 80/20. On the light though, that barrel when you run some wire thru it, does it hold at whatever point you stop? I guess I just assumed it ran all the wire and stopped at the end via the ball.

There is a ball on the cable that sits in a male piece that threads into the female piece which is what is screwed in place into the ceiling.

If you drill the holes in the 80/20 just larger than the cable you can run the cable through the 80/20 from the top and then down through the barrels on the light itself.

The piece you are showing is used to raise and lower the fixture. The video may help...

Oh, now I understand how it works. So really shouldn't be difficult. Just rather then attatch those top hat pieces to a ceiling, I'll find secure them into the 80/20, and hang it as normal?
