A month ago I had a coral pathogen rip through my tank and wipe out all my SPS. I’m 99% sure it was a pathogen. I sent a sample to aquabiomics but am still waiting for the results.
After it took out my SPS, certain LPS began STNing from the base up. At this point I threw a Hail Mary and treated the tank with Cipro. I know some frown upon Cipro usage but my tank was necrossing before my eyes and I could not sit idly by. The Cipro stopped whatever it was, hopefully for good but at least for the time being. A small Duncan was on the way out when I started cipro and 1 of the two heads did not make it. That head’s mouth is now gaping open. The other has been hanging in there for the last few weeks. Should I frag the good head, dip in iodine and put it back? Or just let nature do it’s thing? Here are some quick pics under natural sunlight, i’ll get a proper picture when the lights turn on at 10.
