Using a drilled 4obr for a sump for a new build. Hole will be in the return section and not under water or pressure unless power out or Wc, most if tjebtune it will be above water line.

I am thinking 1/4" plate glass silicone to both sides.
Or
A bulkhead with a end cap,

What do you think is best? I am leaning towards the glass. Any tips or tricks,

I am open to other methods.

Just leave the bulkhead in place, add a piece of pvc in the threaded side and cap the pvc.

Glass and silicone will work... not very attractive, though, and hard to change when/if you decide to re-purpose the tank again. A bulkhead and a PVC plug would be my choice. Many LFS's carry common size bulkheads.

so it seems like bulk heads is everyone's choice.
I forgot what size the hole is but I'll try to find out. Its true the bulk head would be easy to re-purpose but I would need to take out all the baffles with silicone anyway. but if its safer to use a bulkhead I will for sure.
