Just got this tank and unsure how I want to plumb it. Theoretically I’d do two corner overflows but my issue is since this is an older tank, albeit brand new, the drilled holes on the bottom are about 17” apart which would make for two very large corner overflows. Looking for ideas. Had a ****** bean animal system on the last tank but likely doing a Durso setup on this one. Thanks fellas!

I would drill the back for a single Bean Animal and use the existing holes for a closed loop return system!

Interesting set up, any idea what was originally intended for those holes?

Plug the holes on bottom and drill for ghost overflow. Make sure glass isn’t tempered before drilling

I like the idea of using the existing holes for multiple returns. Give you a lot of control on your flow patterns and coral options when it comes to their specific flow rates. Then drill a spot for a drain of your choice.

Yep ghost overflow and closed loop. I’ve been thinking of going closed loop on the tanks I’m planning since I don’t like equipment on my viewing panels

Thanks for the responses. I had thought about closed loop system as well. We got an incredible deal on the tank and we didn’t want to pass it up. In theory we wanted to try to not drill the back glass of the tank at all so we can keep it closer to the wall.

Any thoughts or ideas without drilling further?

Where would y’all suggest getting a ghost overflow? And how large. I was thinking maybe 30 inches? Any fans of a DIY?

A narrow coast to coast would work very nice and give you good flow across the water surface.

How about the overflow on one end? still get it close to the wall .

I like this. So get an overflow made to cover two of the holes and make those drains... and the. I could use bulkheads and black pvc and make returns of the other two up towards the surface of the water with black loc line....thoughts?

I have drilled tanks before and am not afraid to drill this one. I am trying my best to avoid it. And also trying to avoid any plumbing behind the tank if at all possible.

I like your idea . Was thinking about using about the existing holes for returns also. Didn't think of using black locline & pvc .good idea I have a synergy overflow at one end. on the 75 I think this setup is called peninsular? Works fine with return at the opposite end.
