I have a small chalk goby in my qt tank. The tank has lots of hiding places and a small pot of sand from my DT.

I have read that they are quite resilient to parasites and disease. I usually use cupramine but It does make me nervous using this chemical. I'm thinking maybe I should just do a few weeks of observing. What would you do?

Thanks

If not using the medication I would watch for at least 30 days prior to moving to DT to be on the safer side. I am in the process of setting up a QT tank and after reading all the horror stories on fish disease in DT I have a hard time not medicating everything going forward prior to going into DT.

Are you planning on dosing cupramine as a reaction or as prophylaxis?

The least stressful thing is to just not dose medications if dosing is not necessary. But like DC Reefer said, you should watch for a while before introducing the fish into the tank.

Thanks for the replies. I was going to dose cupramine as a preventative measure, not because of seeing symptoms. I'm juat not sure if its always necessary. If its eating well and showing no signs of issues after 30 days then its unlikely to have any issues right?
