How would you read this NO3 test?

We are having a household debate on how to read this Red Sea nitrate test. I say hold the bottle above the card and look for a match. My hubby thinks set the bottle down on the card. His readings are much higher than mine. Thoughts? Thanks in advance

When I used the Red Sea test, I always set the bottle on the card. Looks that way on the instruction card if I'm not mistaken? I'm gonna say yours is 10ish

The instructions say to move the vial over the different colors and see where there is a match. On my dial test kits, the vial is slightly elevated over the card, which is why I thought it would be best to hover the vial and let light in.

The vial should be on the card and if available in `Natural light. If you hold it up it will give different readings based on how high the vial is from the card and amount of light.
