In the beginning, everyone has issues, but most are experiencing the same troubles during the first 2 years. Depending on how you started is key. Nothing great happens overnight. This hobby is a long term project that needs to age to mature. I’m closing in on 3 yrs, and starting automation on my system with ATO and doser for Alkalinity and Ca. Just added a auto feeder. I need a vacation, and fishing season starts soon, so all of the auto functions need to be adjusted weeks prior to vacation. I’ve done everything manually for over 2 1/2 yrs, but it was worth it, the knowledge is gained, and less confusion during automation

after 2 years & too much meddling I still have stability & algae issues.

Tautog , i grow up next to 100 fish tanks ( my parents use to have Tropical Fish store) 50 years ago, we use to breed any kind of Fresh Water Fish , include Neon ( pain in the neck) Angels , Gold Fish , Discus etc. i am in reef for more then 25 years, i dose also ( Vertex Libra) but the main still Calcium reactor , i use combo for less CO2 in my tank, NOT sure how big is your tank , but , Calcium reactor is better. More constant , release more stuff what corals need.
