Hello folks,

I was just taking a look at my Trident and saw that my alkalinity raised from midnight until 6AM.
I dose ESV B-Ionic at 9:15AM, so its funny to me that my alk has raised without any dosing. Is this normal?

Your corals aren’t consuming alkalinity during that time so it’s normal, if you use the dos you can set it with trident to dose less during that time and more during peak consumption.

Rationally speaking, if there is NO addition of alkalinity via my dosing pumps during the time in which the alk raised (midnight until 6AM), how is the alk raising? That's my point. And I only dose once a day at 9:15AM. I have an AquaMedic doser.

What’s the pH overnight? Any chance you have any areas where sand is converting in low pH overnight when it would be lowest?

During the non photo period there is only CO2 production, no consumption.
On one hand this surplus of CO2 causes a drop in pH.
On the other hand it might be influencing the alkalinity too, just not sure how to explain...
