Hows this stocking for a 120 gal?

Thinking about getting a 48 x 24 x 24 120gal tank next year, and I want to plan it out well.

Hows this stocking idea? Would it work fine if I keep a good aquascape with lots of caves and movement?

48" is small for tangs, they like to cruze.

I am on phone and cant check the genius of the tangs, just don't put 2 of the same in there.

The issue is actually not space at 48", I would go 60", but its the elevated cost of the lighting. Moving to 60" would require 3x Radeon's....ouch!!

Unless I could get away with 2x Radeon's XR30 and re-use my existing XR15? Would that give enough coverage?

I'm only sort of budgeting for 2x Radeons. Although I'm still considering a T5 / Radeon combo...Its all cost. The price of a 60" tank is not a lot more.

I want a heavy SPS/mixed tank, so would 2x G4 XR30's Pro and 1x G4 XR15 Pro (in the middle) work for that?

I can then later retrofit in the hood 4x 60" T5 bulbs, two each side of the Radeons when money allows.

I would go with as large as tank as you can fit. Then I would put in the G4 over two mounds or something like that, the xr 15 supplimental somewhere you want extra light / small mound and then retro the t5 for lps and zoas later.

I think it's possible, especially if you have a large amount of water plumbed into the system. The only one I worry about is the powder blue tang.

So if I went with a little bigger 5ft tank, maybe 60 x 24 x 24, would the powder blue tang be OK? I just really like that tang a lot!

I would go 6ft to hit the 180 gallon mark.
