Before you send the Tang Police to my house, all my tangs are happy — even adding a decent-sized Achilles Tang lately. Currently, I have 6 tangs living in a 3’ cube, SPS dominant. I would like to move 2-3 fish to another 6’ tank, nem-dominant (mostly anemone…think carpet!). Well — carpets are known to sting and eat fish. Yes, I knew this going in.

What do you guys use to catch a 6” Sailfin?

Thanks in advanced and oh btw: “I’m asking for a friend.” What idiot would pack 6 tangs in such a small tank?

Tank divider, big nets with a “fine” finish, slow motion, and drain as much water as possible.

I've caught a bunch of fish that way. When the tang you want is in the net eating-- scoop fast. If you catch some other fish, that's fine, just toss the ones you didn't want to catch back.

High and dry works well, except on regal tangs that wedge themselves in there.

There are also fish traps.
