So I am in Palm Beach Fl and getting hit with this storm Got the Generator ready to go but realistically cant get it going until after the bigger part of the storm passes. I feel pretty confident we are losing power during the storm as the 13 years I have spent in FL shown it has happened everytime. How long will the tank be ok with out moving water before coral and fish will start to stress or worse chance of dying? I have never let it go more than an hour without flow so I dont really know.l

Corals should be good for two days tops. Fish will be good for atleast a day giving overnight shipping as a rule of thumb. #reefsquad

Have you tested out the generator yet? I'd run it a little while to get things working properly, also makes it allot easier to crank back up under what will be a stressful situation;) Good luck getting through the storm!

If you put the airstones in a pvc pipe the air will draw the water up the pipe and blow it out the top. creating water flow while also adding oxygen.

a 12v airpump for the car will work in a pinch. depending on the bioload rock sand bed you do want to get oxygen and a bit of flow going. in a few hours.

I did, Accually for whatever reason, the power went out last night because FPL was doing work locally and we lost power for about 4 hours. I got it hooked up and running for about 2 of those hours or so. Ran the pumps, and powerheads, skimmer, along with some house lights for that time. I plan on running a refirgerator, micorwave where needed, portable AC and the TV with some lights. Thanks for the good luck wish.

As long as your temp is good you can manually turn your water over for oxygen exchange.

We just went through a flood and while I have to take my tank apart to rebuild my house I was able to save most of the livestock by powering on my mp10. I would run it for about 15 minutes every 4 hours off an APC battery backup. Did this for about 4 days until we could get a generator running.. tank is a medium stocked 75gal, no lights until I was able to get the generator after 4 days but I didn't lose any coral.

I'm in the same boat. I'm a firefighter in Palm Beach County and will be at work for 2 days. I have a generator, but won't be able to run it till I get home. I left a battery powered air stone there that will turn on when it senses a power outage. I hope that's enough till I get home.

Thank you for being out there.
