Has anyone hooked this up to meanwell 48p drivers? I cannot seem to get this to work. I had to put on the 10v converter and wiring harness for it. I hooked the lights to an older basic controller and they work. I found on their site how to program so I followed those directions and it seems correct. But no pics on the wiring harness

I'd ask Steve's whether you need the 10v PWM converter for that driver. Hurricane puts out 5v PWM whereas 48P driver is looking for 10v PWM...

You only need a signal wire and ground for each channel with this type of driver.

You can use a common npn transistor like pn2222a and a 10v dc power adapter (and probably a 1K resistor and a 10K resistor for safety) to convert the 5v pwm to 10v pwm...assuming this is what is required

I bought the 10v from Steve and their wiring harness.. I am about ready to pull my hair out. I have redone the wiring 4 time and the programming I have no idea how many times. At this point I am thinking there is a part not working. It works fine on my old dimmer. Called Steve multi times get vm. Emailed them and they asked for pic and they would call me back yesterday. No call back yet.

Ouch, what a pain. It should work, particularly since you get good results with the old dimmer. It must be that something is connected incorrectly, or that the 10V converter is not working. What happens if you simply connect the controller directly to the dimming wires on the driver (that is, connect a single channel of the Hurricane to the + and - wires of the driver with the channels all set to 1 or some low value?

Well I cannot tell you how disappointed I am with Steve Leds.. 3 days and no call back or returned email since Wednesday morning when they ask for pics...I am trying to see if the first 4 channels are just bad and moved to 5 6 7. Wish me luck

Don't be disheartened, maybe he is busy .. if you share some pics of the electronics, I can take a stab at diagnosing it, you still have to be the remote hand and do the diagnostics, though.. let me know. If you are in hurry, we can also do a google hangout/video chat etc

Thank you so much for you all help. After troubleshooting more it looks like there is no power coming out of the 10v adapter. I can see the power lights on the led controller on the channels. I thought maybe the connectar not good enough contact so directly wrapped 2 wires together and used manual mode and cranked the level and nothing. BUT the good news is I figured out my old rapid led controller and was able to set the levels. I forgot how bright 260 leds are when they are all on!!! I am going to wait to see if Steve led calls me back. If not will trash the controller and just settle for what I have that is working for now. Thank you again for offers to help me out!!!

so did he get back to you and help you get it working
I'm just about to order from him. sent emails to ask what i need and Jeff replied. here is the reply I'm still not sure what wires I need?

jeff's answer
I will need a power supply for the HurricaneX or the 10V converter or both? No, HurricaneX comes with the power supply.

Do i need any Wiring Harness to put the HurricaneX together with the 10V converter? Yes, you'll select the appropriate adapter (4 or 16 channels of control using HurricaneX 5.0S).

No worries, have I answered all of your questions?

Thanks!
Jeff

here is what I sent.

HurricaneX along with the 10V converter: and ? else??

is there a box that the 10V converter fits in.

Wiring Harness 16 channels that fit the 10v converter that I can add wire to by soldering to run to the lights its a 300gal 8'long tank most wire harness are to short.

I'm not sure if I missed anything.

can you send me list of what I need from you so all I just have to do is solder the wires coming from the lights

you have no link that I can see as to how the HurricaneX connects to 10V converter on your site.

and I will buy the temp probe. it may come in handy too if the HurricaneX can turn lights off if tank get to hot.

I have the reefkeeper to power the lights on before ramp up and power off after ramp down.

and the lights that I will put female plugs in where rotary dial dimmer where and i will have the male plugs to fit them with wire to solder to your (16 channel Wiring Harness for the 10v converter)

Yes they sent me a new wiring harness and I was able to get it to work. I would not hesitate ordering from them.
