Hey everyone! Need some security with a fairy of mine. I was cleaning my sand bed, and spooked my pintail. He slammed his head on my red planet colony pealing a tiny layer of skin off his forehead. Hes as normal as hes always been, im just trying to make sure it wont get worse then it already is. Only issue i can see is an infection in the near future, would like more eyes from the experts if i could. I know this is a bad photo, i could get a better one tomorrow.
Thanks everyone!

I wouldn’t worry, just keep the fish well-fed with high quality foods, ideally soaked in selcon, zoecon, or vita chem— and keep water quality high.

Watch for infection/redness— it’s always good to have acriflavine, metroplex, furan 2, and kanaplex on hand, just in case!

Thank You! I do, its the top layer of skin, just feel bad for the little fella. Its white underneight, been like that for a few hours now. So I shall see tomorrow. Never in my reefing career have I had a fish peel skin before.

This happened to my lineatus, except he went in the overflow and slammed his head into the pvc elbow edge in his freaking out. Looked like he caved in his head he hit so hard. The pic in my avatar is from afterwards. Soft tissue injuries are no biggie, usually. Keep an eye on it, but you should fine. It will probably look markedly better after just a few days.

What i found fascinating is that the wound already healed. He litterally took a chunk off his forehead, the picture was terrible but you can make out how deep the injury actually is.
Thanks everyone, very much appreciate what everyone does for this forum.
