I have just recently added a sump and a protein skimmer to my 100 gallon tank. It had been a fish only tank for 4 years. I have added a green star polyp, candy apple zoanthid and a purple sea whip as my first coral. What are some of the daily or weekly husbandry you do? I change my filter sock every 3rd day, clean the glass, check my water parameters, and do my top offs. Wondering what other things I can be doing to help improve my tanks water for more corals?

Keep your alk and calcuim in check. Weekly water changes of 10%. Thats all I really do for my tank. here and there Ill feed my corals but they usually catch the food when I feed my fish

Do you run a fuge? I think mine really helps. Oh yeah, and isolate GSP from your main rockwork. It can spread like wildfire.

Those are all great starting corals. Purple sea whip will appreciate high levels of flow to thrive and higher light than the other 2 corals. I have quite a few gorgs so i also dose silica occasionally. Not a lot and i dont really measure tbh lol. But weekly water changes will likely be enough for one :)

Clean the glass every day when I get home from work (magnet scrubber) inside and clean the outside with some glass cleaner.

Filter socks every 2-3 days (I run 100 Micron so sometimes its two days)

Empty Protein Skimmer if needed.

5-10% water change once a week. I am fairly lightly stocked so sometimes 5% is enough.

I did isolate the GSP thanks. I just started my fuge with a bio brick, a mermaid fan and plan on getting some chaeto.
