Hi guys; I need an advice; In a 100x60x60 (cm) reef tank which t5 hybrid light + led do you recommend for lps and sps? new ati hybrid 4x39 + 2x75 or a hybrid fixture 4x39 + 3 radion xr15 G4? or do you have other proposals? thanks to all in advance.

The ati has better led spread , a little less par power because of it.
The radions will be a little spottier at the same distance. IMO.

thank you; but the type of led mounted are the same between radion and ati as wavelength, brand and watt for single led? should the excellent radion be better as a spread? what would your advice be? I have always heard that the radion as LEDs are better than the LEDs mounted on the hybrid ati ... also for that tank is enough 4 t5? or should I take the 6 t5 model?

What are you trying to grow?

Both are fine choices.
Go ati 6 tube for high light clams on the sand kinda stuff.
The t5 do the heavy par lifting.

I’d mount the radion at 12-15 and the led do the heavy par work.

currently the tank in question (of a friend of mine) mounts 8t5 from 39 W Power module +1 actinic LED bar; would like to improve the quality of light maintaining growth and color but increasing the fluorescence of the acropora ... here is the reason for my question .. for its purpose with what could replace its current ati powermodule 8x39 watts?

If he already has an 8 lamp ATI and an LED bar I think he's going to end up chasing his tail trying to increase fluorescence by going to a totally different light system- which at best might give a small bump in potential fluorescence... and at worst throw off his stability and potentially lessen his coral coloration. I'd say try adding another high power Royal Blue LED bar from one of the well known brands and see if that kicks his acropora up a notch. IMO there is perceived fluorescence and a then there's actual fluorescence. He could likely see 'more' fluorescence if he went to a pure LED system, but would sacrifice a lot of growing power in the process. Is he not happy with viewing his tank under just the LED bar? That would be the pinnacle of 'pop' effect he might achieve.

Also, I've had better success tweaking acro pigmentation with nutrient and trace element supplements. An 8x39w ATI unit is plenty to develop any of the potential pigmentation his acros might show. I'd say water chemistry tweaks might be the route with more room to play than tearing out an already very capable light system in pursuit of a perceived increase in fluorescence.

Thanks for the reply. so you can't find a compromise between coloring is good growth and many more fluorescence by putting a hybrid ati or radion?
