I always have thoughts in the back of my head of how I will juggle keeping a nice reef tank and keeping up with my daughter. She seems to have an interest in cars with me, she helps me in the garage when I am detailing or working on the cars. She keeps talking about building a "race car" with dad so I am most def looking forward to that day. I am planning in a couple more years of picking up a Nissan GTR to do this with her.

Racing has made me appreciate how cheap reefing really is.
The travel makes it difficult in taking care of the tank. A doser is a big help. A spouse or neighbor that will watch the tank helps as well.
The GTR will be awesome, great choice. I see a MicroMax class kart coming soon in your life.

The tank looks great and your workmanship excellent, both neat and functional.

I will enjoy following along on your thread.

Yea you do love some vortechs haha, as do I but these def give them a run for their money so far.

Oh def! i totally agree on the cost differences. Building cars has shown me that in reality this hobby is way cheaper (and less stressful lol)

I used to dose but had issues with three doser so I switched to a CaRX and don't regret it one bit. Truly set and forget.

Sorry everyone, I haven't been too active on the forum for the last few days because we had a death in the family. Our 18 year old nephew passed away in a tragic accident this past weds, feb 22nd. He was helping his dad install new drains for the house they are remodeling and the trench he was in collapsed. His funeral was this past Saturday, I love that kid more than words can describe and he will be missed by all who had met him. Anyone who knew him would describe him as a godly child and everyone knew his joy came from that he had Jesus in his heart. It brings a great comfort to my family knowing where is at today.

The day of his funeral was also the day of the LEAR frag swap in Ohio, this is by far my favorite swap to attend yearly and my family and I always look forward to going. I knew going this year was not going to happen, so a very good friend of mine @spsreefer said he would take the few frags that I sold up to the swap for me and also bring back what i reserved. We are so thankful to have friends like Steve, Chris and Jake that are willing to help us out in our time of need. Good friends are hard to come by these days.

So onto the pieces I got from the swap. I only reserved 3 new sps pieces so this won't involve a ton of pics this time lol(sorry guys lol). So lets get to the pics!


First up is a dry good, this was a deal I couldn't pass up lol. Its another Geo's Reef skimmer. I got this as a backup in case something were to happen to my current Geo's skimmer (not likely though, since these things are literal tanks)

Next up is a GARF Bansai. I needed some purple in the tank and this guy is the perfect candidate.

This is the Smurfette Milli. It got a little beat up on the way home but I think it will recover nicely. It resembles a bubblegum milli when healthy.

And last but certainly not least, the piece I am most excited about from the swap. The Jason Fox Homewrecker! I got this piece from @Renton777, it lost color in transport but I have no doubts it will color up fast.

3 new frags and a backup skimmer, I wish I could have gotten more but sometimes thems the breaks.

Bro, we were sorry to learn about Adam's death. He really was an amazing, joyful guy who impacted everyone who knew him (my family was blessed to know him). He will most definitely be missed, but it's so comforting to know that we will see him again.

For since we believe that Jesus died and was raised to life again, we also believe that when Jesus returns, God will bring back with him the believers who have died." (1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)
