my tank is 120 gallons, 48x24x24 and i'm doing a FOWLR tank, but eventually within a few months I would like to start adding corals once I begin to gain more experience. I want to get two pumps and put them opposite of each-other, but i'm worried if I get the 1500 I would have too much flow and blow my fish around. I also have Carib Sea Original Grade Live Sand, which was the most aestetically pleasing for me and doesnt blow around to easy even with my hand. Should I settle for the 1150 or go ahead and get the 1500?

I'd probably go with the 1500's.. FWIW I just put two of the 850's in my 20 gallon long tank and I wish I had more flow. Sometimes the GPH on the box doesn't really add up underwater.

I have (2) 1500s in my 90g that's 48". I think I need more. I recommend those for FOWLR. However I also recommend thinking ahead of time of what sort of corals you might want to keep that way you don't kick yourself in the butt down the road for not getting enough.
I also started with sugar fine live aragonite which I also liked the look of. Kicked myself in the butt for that too! Just last weekend I siphoned it all out and replaced with crushed coral SO I COULD ADD MORE FLOW!! Haha.
The coral bug WILL bite.

Haha thanks, definitely the most useful answer i've gotten in weeks. I have Original Grade sand which is kind of a mix of some med-large grain sizes. However only have 40 lbs in. If anything i'll add a heavier mix as my second batch of sand to weigh everything down. As for corals, i'm more into the soft corals that have flow and move with the water, not much into the stony stuff.
