okay .do you see the pump,theres a solid black piece on the pump itself rather then the slots for flow. now is that suppose to be up or down in the aquarium..hope yall understand what im asking..

Im using the same pump. I put mine in where the wire is on top because the wire has to come out the top of the tank. Hope that helps

thats how i got mine but wasn't sure, all the pics ive seen they had the solid black up,so it got me wondering, Im wondering if it has something to do with flow,
Like right now the solid piece is down and not sure if its blocking suction from the bottom

Thats odd. The black piece on mine is on top along with the power cord. Hmmm. Anyway as long as its deep enough that its not pulling air you should be ok.

Actually if ur not running a overflow it might be a good idea for it to be sucking from the top so that it makes a whirl pool effect. It will help keep the top layer of water clean.

i got overflow but maybe i nee to reput on the cap where it will line up with top also

but u see in the pic the flat piece with the cord i assuming is at the bottom

It looks like you have the black on top. The cord should be on top and you should see the label on the flat part which should be on top.

ok but the end piec,you know how its 2 piece ,theres a black part on that should it be up top or like the 2nd pic i got
