the bottom magnet was year old. I'm so mad. I've been losing lps randomly but my parameters are always consistent. Funny part is my sps are all fine. I hope this was the reason, time will tell.

Did you break it apart to see corrosion or was it cracked and there was a indication of corrosion?

Not saying to damaged it, just to be clear.
 
Awesome that you caught it, sorry you had to find out the hard 2ay.

Run some carbon in tank if not already doing so.

What model and how old. I have one about 4 years old
 
I'm running carbon and I'm going to slowly do water changes every couple days. Icp test after a couple weeks.

I ran some poly filter too for a week or 2. Only corals i saw at the time unhappy was a frogspawn. After a couple wc it went back to normal so not sure the poly filter was needed. But they are inexpensive.
