What does the alarm do? I understand that when the water level hits the top notch of the sensor it will go off, but will the pump keep pumping water even after the alarm goes off? What is the point of the alarm? If I'm not home, and the alarm goes off, will the water continue to pump water to my tank?

Will this work on rimmed tanks? Do I just need to cut the rim?

What are the overflowing problems with this kit?

Will this work in my display tank?

Does this unit have a auto shut off in case something goes wrong? Maybe a timer or something. Like if something faults out, and the pump keeps pumping water to the tank, will anything trigger and turn off the pump to stop the water from going into the tank?

Can anyone input some issues you are having with this unit?

I just don't know if this unit will work and be reliable.thinking of the tunze osmolator but it's a lot of money for a dang top off system. It beats lugging buckets around though.

I have been using hydor smart level on both my tanks and had no issue whatsoever. I am using then in combination with an aqualifter pump. The alar never goes off when it is filing up and will turn off automatically when it reaches the fill level. Only time I hear the alarm is when my reservoir is out of fresh water and it can't fill the sump to proper level.

The alarm will also go off when a pumping session is significantly longer than the previous one. If it usually runs for 20 seconds and on the next topoff it runs for 40, the alarm will go off and it will stop pumping. I would buy it again and I've had it for more than a year.
