Hydor Smart Wave Controllerand 2 Hydor pumps

I just got a Hydor smart wave controller and I have 2 Hydor pumps. i have a biocube 32. I need some ideas on setting up controller. I was thinking about setting it up in alternate pump mode so only 1 is running at a time. What would be a good recommendation for time for pumps to switch?

I agree and would also probably set them up on an alternating program, anyone else?

I alternated every 1 minute to get that random flow.

Yeah the alternating flow mirrors the natural flow in reefs. I like my controller for the alternating and feeding mode, BUT I have experienced an annoying clicking noise half the time when the powerheads switch and start up. It's annoying, and apparently it's normal. Hopefully I can find a way to make sure it doesn't click. I have it alternating every 10 seconds so maybe the longer time in between will help.
