I just bought a new Hydor Wave maker pump to mix my salt water and got the 600 or 700 gph. I plugged it in and have to have my hand 2” in front of it to feel the flow from it. I even took it apart and put it back together. Do these have a brake in period? Or any recommendations?

Yea...somethings wrong. I have a 100gph for my mix bucket and in 5 gallons, you can visibly see the water moving. Does it need realigned? Some hydor pumps have the impeller and if you don’t clean it the salt can build from mixing and make it work funny.

I have the large 2450 gph hydor...
It's rated for 2450GPH but this is only for an open prop configuration that could kill your fish or cut your finger. In order to run it in a safe configuration you must use 1 of the 3 included guards. The issue is on the side of the box their own documentation shows that using one of these guards to make it safe drops the GPH from 2450GPH all the way down to 1600-1850 GPH depending on which one you use. They are marketing this as a 2450 GPH pump when their own box shows on the side when it arrives that there is no way to safely get more than 1850 GPH out of it. And as an owner of one I would say there is 0 chance that I was getting 1850 out of it. More like 500GPH. Most disappointing water mover I have ever bought.

That sucks :( sometimes things just don’t work right out of the box. Can you return or replace it?
