Hi Guys,

Just wanted someone else to take a look at my light settings. I have been struggling to figure out exactly what to run them on. A few weeks ago I changed things up and my tank has not been the same since. I didnt save the old setting so now I am trying to tweak things a bit. Since I changed the lights my torch tentacles have gotten skinny and not as long, my hammer isnt opening all the way, and my flower pot is all puffy and not extended 90% of the time. I am thinking it has to be the lights. I have included a screen shot of my settings. I started with a preset that didnt make anything better after running it for over a week. I just increased the UV from 65% at peak to 90% at peak but not sure that has much to do with corals?

How much and what did you treak? Did you change to amount of time the lights are on or run the intensity up? If you redid the whole schedule , I'd say put the hydra into acclimation mode for a few weeks depending on how drastic the changes were. From what I've gleaned on several forums and my own experience with the Hydras - small changes over weeks are the safest. Anytime you you change something drastically , acclimate !! Lighting stability is just like any other parameter in a reef tank , changes need to be gradual.

Here what I have done, I have shorten the intense portion of my lighting period, for the reason I was having Cyano and Diatom issues all the time. I run my blue at over %100 my white max at %31

While lighting could be a culprit, what are your other parameters? Low nutrients seem to effect my LPS in the same way your LPS are responding. Any big swings in ALK or salinity could also be a problem.
