I recently set up a IM fusion 10 with plans of running a AI prime. As luck would have it I ran into a deal on a Hydra 26 I couldn't pass up. The only issue I have now is the risk of providing to much light for a mixed reef. The light is currently 18" above the sand bed and run between 10-20% for 8 hrs a day. Does anyone have any suggestions for running a more powerful light on a smaller tank?

If you put it high above the tank (12" maybe even 14") it won't be so intense in the center. You may want to consider having the highest point in your aquascape off to a side or towards the corner, if the highest point in the aquascape is right in the middle it sort of makes the problem a little worse. If you want to have the aquascape as pictured, another option would be to mount the light towards the side the tank is most often viewed from, then angle it slightly towards the center (i.e. put the light in the front of the tank and angle it towards the back). Lastly, you will probably need to run at some low percentage, but if you can get a PAR or LUX meter to measure it will help determine what that percentage should be. Hope this helps.
