My reefer 350 gets delivered today...yay! Won’t be able to assemble it until next week...boo!

Still need to buy a Hydra 26. Are the arms that come woth the deluxe versions not for sale? Is this mounting arm better than the AI HMS solution (I do not like the huge mounting grip with the 3” screws)?

The deluxe arms only come with the tank itself, as far as I know they are not sold individually, you may be able to order some directly from Red Sea but I wouldn't count on it.

They do sell them...and cheaper. Does anyone know how they compare? Best bet to go with Red Sea?

You will need two Hydra 26HD's for that size tank. Also, before you buy those mounting arms, you should be aware that the Reefer Deluxe tanks have holes drilled in the back to mount the bracket on the tank. I'm not sure how you would use those mounting arms if you don't have the holes drilled in your tank. You might want to look at the AI website to look at their mounting options.

Oh really? I didn’t know about the holes.

I am way over budget already. I plan to start with 1 Hydra with little rock in the center. And in 6 months-1 year start building from there (and get another light). Any concern with that plan?

So, I called this morning and they said the arms do now come with Adaptors that fit any glass (no predrilled holes required). I ordered 2. I’ll see.

Interesting... I tried to buy mounting arms from Red Sea 1.5 years ago and was told that they cannot sell them individually. Ended up going with the AI mounts which are OK. Having the ability to swing them up would be really nice.

I received them. Seems decent. Attaches nicely with 2 plastic thumb screws. I am glad I got them.

Note: You can’t really adjust the height...
