So the good news was that it was fixable. Basically I purchased this light used from @Zakery Murray (I don't believe it was broken when I received it. It broke after I got my hands on it, lol) I discovered the light was in child mode so I needed to reset the light in order to make it a parent... So I hold down the switch, and suddenly I feel the piece of plastic fly inside of the unit, and now it's rattling around inside...
I take the unit apart and discover the only thing holding this switch on to the PCB is the TINIEST amount of solder with absolutely no reinforcement... Luckily, it was entirely possible to simply press down on the switch with a pair of tweezers which allows it to make enough contact with the PCB and it works again. I then used superglue while applying pressure with the tweezers to hold it in place again.
Not a good design! Searched the forums and couldn't find this topic so if anybody else runs into this, hopefully this can help you!
