Does anyone know if the AI Hydra 26 will be able to cover the full length of a 20 gallon long tank?

Yes it does. It's what I have over mine at maybe 10 inches and no shadowing on the sides

Great! now how do you have it over your tank, are you using a hanging kit or did you go with the mount?

Also, what kind of growth are you getting. I have a current orbit now and i was hoping that this light would give me a lot better color and growth in my tank for corals that need a higher par level.

I used a floating style shelf above my tank and used the bottom screws to hold some wire cable used for mounting picture frames and the screws on top of the hd.

You can see in the pic the lack of side darkness except where the rock my shadow it a bit.

Still a young tank right now, but I have gsp, zoas, and a brain coral in there now and they all seem to be doing well. To early to tell about growth.

I am also going through the ugly stage, told you it was young, but am finally getting to the other side of it. I like the ability to change the intensity and length of light time with either the laptop or phone depending on how the tank is doing. Adding new coral and able to 'one touch' acclimate lighting is nice as well.

i have a 26 on my 45 cube awesome coverage. Also made a hanging kit.

I think the 26 is under rated for coverage. Sure the 52 covers more, but the 26 covers quite a bit of real estate in tanks.
ya its hard to find a light that will cover long tanks without buying two. From all the reviews it seems like AI is making some of the best lets systems for an affordable price and to be able to control all of it from your phone and laptop just makes it an even better deal.

What kind of filter system are you using on your 45? I've been debating on upgrading to a bigger tank but I'm thinking about a canister filter not a sump.

In the sump I have a tunze 9004 skimmer in the middle section. And run chemipure elite in both sides of the media baskets. And purigen in the right side. I change those out every 3-4 months. And then filter floss on the top that I change every 3 days. I do a 5 gallon water change every sun with aquaforest reef salt. This combo has worked very well for me.

Ya that does sound like an amazing set up. I am hoping to have something like that within the next year. I went from a 10 gallon nano to a 20 gallon nano and haven't had any major problems at all, so i think I'm almost ready to have a bigger tank.
