Hello,

I'm looking to make my first t5 / led hybrid, and would appreciate some info and feedback...

I have a pair of hydra 52's that I am looking to put into an 8 bulb 48" t5 fixture. I have a 48" x 25" x 28" rimless, and I want to keep the clean look and have a hybrid. I'm not a fan of the ati hybrids. Just a personal preference....

I am kind of hoping that I would be able to remove the middle 4 bulbs / reflectors, and to install the hydras :)

Has anyone done this? If so, with what fixture? Have any pics and or advice? I want to make sure that I can do it before chopping into a fixture.

I was thinking about an ati 8x54w non-dimable sunpower.

Thoughts?

possible you just wouldnt be able to put the acrylic shield on the sunpower because the sunpower is only 2" thick at most. Idk where the fans on the hydra are placed so just be mindful of that, dont want to be burning out the LED's on the fixture.

I take that back IDK how the 8 bulb turns its lights on i.e. it might stagger the bulbs not just the center 4 and the outter 4 in pairs. Someone would have to chime in on which turn on. I have the 6 bulb non dimmable sunpower. If one bulb in the set isnt plugged in the other 3 bulbs wont turn on.
