I’m not sure what my par is in my 42g cadlights with a Hydra 52 about 10 inches over the water. My scape was a bit bad when I started this tank 2.5 years ago. I want to raise it a bit and increase my values. Anyone know how long I should do the acclimation mode for? Or should I just raise my blues and violet from the 60 they are at to 80 and see how everything does? Also, what’s everyone running the UV at and do I need to raise it?

Yes 60-80 is probably fine.

Yes add the UV actinic.

Add em slowly and see how they go.

You can raise them to 80. Uv channel can be a out 50-60 as well. But use the acclimation mode and cut them back. Reduced to 70% and increase over 2 weeks.

But then he’s adding almost nothing and then subtracting from all of it

What I ment to say is to ramp them up slowly over 2 weeks to new levels.
Specially if uv channel was never used before.
You can set your max on each ch say at 80 then use acclimation mode set for 2 weeks.
After 2 weeks once acclimation is over new settings of 80 will be in effect along with corals already gotten used to it over 2 weeks time.

It’s not a true UV. Just the lowest end of the spectrum. Corals need a bit of that.
